SYNOPSIS
Cubillo, historia de un crimen de estado is a historical documentary woven around the assassination attempt of Antonio Cubillo Ferreira, leader of the Movement for the Self-Determination and Independence of the Canary Islands (MPAIAC). In the 1970s, he challenged the Spanish government by demanding the independence of the Canary Islands on an international level.
This documentary uncovers a web of international intrigue, involving the governments and intelligence services of Spain, Germany, Algeria, and the United States, set against the backdrop of the Cold War, African decolonization, and the Spanish Transition.
